Open Letter #1

I'm not sure that I should call this an open letter really, it's more like a rant or simply me going off on a tangent. Over the years I've exponentially become a Bob Dylan fan more and more. It started with simply watching the movie "Hurricane" and enjoying the accompanying tune from 1976's Desire, which increased to hearing "Must Be Santa" (from Dylan's Christmas In The Heart) and eventually downloading it as iTune's free download of the week, then came sitting on the porch hearing my favourite roommate get down on some "Subterranean Homesick Blues", next I had a bit of exposure again to Dylan via some dumb video game Rock Band? Guitar Hero? Whatever it was it had "Tangled Up In Blue" as a song you're able to perform.

Now this Dylan infatuation is now full blown, we're talking listening to all his albums in order by year they were recorded... fiending for the bootleg series one through 8... and most likely dressing up as Bob Dylan for Halloween complete with all the Subterranean Homesick Blues cards: (Basement, Medicine, Pavement, Government, Trenchcoat, Look Out!, Black Soot, District Attorney, etc.)... I don't care if no one in Morgantown knows who I am, it's so worth it.

At this point I can honestly say that I believe Bob Dylan is and will forever be the best song writer and artist as well (sorry Weezer). The Stones, Beatles, Hendrix and Led Zeppelin cannot hold a candle to Bob Dylan, they never made 30 plus albums with lyrics as deep and poetic as Dylan. I can also say I'd love to see him in concert, I've never had that desire with any other artist before.
